Sudden Heart Attack Study

It appears that research has shown that Sudden Heart Attacks can be predicted by monitoring pulse rate.

There is an increased chance of Sudden Heart Attack if the resting Heart Rate is above 75 or the Heart Rate during exercise is not high enough.

The latest study, in Thursday's New England Journal of Medicine, found the risk of sudden death was about four times higher than normal in men whose hearts beat fast while resting or didn't speed up as much as they should during exercise. Likewise, sudden death was twice as likely in men whose heart rates didn't slow down enough in the minute after exercise ended, compared with men with normal shifts in their heart rate.

Apparently the study will lead to more research and better medications for those at risk. It's interesting.

Stories here and here.

I guess I'll keep working out.

FitPoints for April -- 6170

I've posted before what my FitPoints goals are: Primary, 5,000 points per month; Secondary, more than the previous month.

FitPoints for April was 6,170.
FitPoints for March was 5,225. (+945)

I guess I need to keep working these "Point Goals." The only problem I forsee is that eventually, expecially if I exceed the previous months point total, I will get to a stage where I can't make the secondary. The only solution to that is to change the primary (increase) as needed.

As for FitPoints Levels, I have reached level 3, Red, and now on level 4, Brown. Lifetime Fitpoints are 51,1222.
